Breakfast was delicious. For starters, roast mutton, then a dish of stewed chickens with rice, tasty and colorful with English red paprika. A roast chicken or boiled, as you eat in England, is really damaged, compared with delicious Guiso de pollo that is tasted in every rancho of Banda Oriental. After eating all this we were still an hour sit down to crush nuts, drinking wine, smoking cigarettes and telling funny stories, and I doubt that that morning there were in all three Uruguay happy people like John Carrickfergus, Scottish fugitive, his wife does not grumble indigenous and their guest, the night before he shot a man.
